Casting my vote and preserving the future

Today I will cast my vote for many local, state, and national candidates and issues. I love voting. I feel a great sense of pride after I vote.

Voting reminds me that I live in a country where, despite our imperfections, we remain committed to the ideals of democracy and the power each of us possess to shape the future.

Voting also reminds me of the important work we do every day here at Summit Education Initiative. We work so that more residents of Summit County will earn high-quality professional certificates and college degrees. According to the Pew Research Center, adults who earn those college degrees are twice as likely to vote.

In our own way, we are preserving our nation’s democratic processes and institutions every time we help strengthen systems that lead to the future academic and economic success of students in our community. Thank you for your support, and for allowing us to continue this important work.
